If you scroll through your camera roll, you’ll probably see so many photos of your kids. The big moments, the small ones, the everyday things you never want to forget, but so few of you. Moms are almost always the ones behind the camera, quietly documenting everything, and in doing so, they often disappear from their own family story. The thing is, years from now, your kids aren’t going to care if your hair was perfect or if you felt old; they’re going to want to see you.

It’s so easy to wait for a better time, when life feels less chaotic or you feel more like yourself again, but there’s no better time than now. You don’t need perfect outfits or perfectly behaved kids to be in photos, you just need to show up. That’s always my goal with family sessions, to create something relaxed and natural where you can simply be together. You are such an important part of your family’s story, not just the one documenting it, and you deserve to be seen in it.
